Debabrata Auro Foundation and The Esthetic Clinics collaboratively organised a fungal infection check-up camp and free medicines distribution at BMC Chowki, near Bandra court. This initiative targeted the BMC Safai Karmcharis to address the prevalent issue of fungal infections within this community.

The event commenced with an awareness session focusing on fungal infections. This session covered the causes, effects, and preventive measures related to fungal infections, highlighting the importance of timely treatment and the various options available. Dermatologists from The Esthetic Clinics conducted thorough check-ups for 53 BMC Safai Karmcharis. Each attendee was screened for fungal infections, and those diagnosed received detailed consultations from dermatologist specialists. The consultations included guidance on appropriate treatment and essential hygiene practices to prevent recurrence.

“Following the check-ups, patients diagnosed with fungal infections were provided with prescribed medicines, including creams and tablets, at no cost. Detailed instructions on properly using these medicines were given to ensure effective treatment and prompt recovery,” said Dr Rinky Kapoor, Cosmetic Dermatologist & Dermato-Surgeon, The Esthetic Clinics.

“The primary goal of this initiative was to educate the community about maintaining proper hygiene practices to prevent the spread of fungal infections. By offering free check-ups, consultations, and medicines, we aimed to empower individuals to take proactive steps in managing their health and well-being,” highlighted Dr Mitalee Shome.

“The BMC Safai Karamcharis play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our cities, ensuring a healthy and pleasant environment for all residents. It is imperative that we recognise their invaluable contributions and prioritise their well-being.
