Francis deSouza, Silicon Valley tech veteran joins 4baseCare’s advisory board

4baseCare, an Illumina Accelerator company, that offers precision oncology solutions using advanced genomics and digital health technology, has appointed Francis deSouza to its advisory board. 

In deSouza’s decade-long career leading Illumina, he played a key role in making genomics more accessible globally. Under his leadership from 2016 to 2023, Illumina significantly reduced sequencing costs, delivered innovative clinical solutions, and expanded operations to 150+ countries. 

Expressing his enthusiasm, Francis deSouza said that 4baseCare has shown remarkable growth over the last 6 years and in his new role and he aims to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients in India and the region. Hitesh Goswami, CEO and co-founder, 4baseCare said that given deSouza’s extensive experience of growing Illumina across geographies, 4baseCare plans to expand its genomics capabilities in SE Asia and the Middle East.
