Fortis Hospital, Mulund and IAGES host Fellowship Program on Advanced Laproscopic Surgery

The three-day intensive training program was attended by 150 doctors with faculty from across the globe

Fortis Hospital Mulund in association with The Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (IAGES),  successfully hosted the Fellowship of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery (FALS) in Oncology from August 23 to 25, 2024. This three-day training program was designed to enhance participants ‘understanding of advanced laparoscopic surgery practices and promote excellence in the field of Minimal Access Surgery (MAS).

This oncology training program covered a wide range of topics,  including oncology surgeries, laparoscopic surgeries to robotic surgeries. It also featured a live demonstration of cutting-edge and minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures for the participants. After the three-day intensive teaching program, a formal examination was conducted, and successful candidates received the ‘FALS in Oncology’ certificate during a formal convocation ceremony.

Dr Anil Heroor, HOD and Senior Consultant-Surgical Oncology, Fortis Hospital Mulund, who was the organising chairman, said, “The training comprised of 38 modules across various subspecialties of MAS oncology which was taught over two days. We have tried to get together the best faculty in the field to share their knowledge, experience and skills in this second physical offline course. Every year new technologies are introduced in Surgical Oncology, and it is very important for medical practitioners to keep themselves updated on the same.”
