Aster volunteers launch mobile medical service in Kalburgi, Karnataka

Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare, has launched its latest Mobile Medical Service unit aimed at assisting the villages of Kalburgi, Karnataka, India. The unit is designed to enhance healthcare accessibility by delivering essential medical and healthcare services directly to disadvantaged individuals in remote areas.

The mobile medical unit, introduced by Aster DM Foundation Kochi in partnership with Ashok Leyland and Dr Ohm Indo German Hospital affiliated with JKST Trust, Chittapur, Kalburgi, is equipped with a telemedicine setup. This setup allows for comprehensive diagnostic and specialty medical services to reach those in need in hard-to-reach areas. The vehicle will provide consultations, first-aid treatment, and other essential medical services to communities in need. Initially launched in Chittapur Block, the mobile unit will also extend its services to adjacent blocks, covering approximately 15,000 beneficiaries each year.

Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Services (AVMMS) is a unique CSR initiative by Aster DM Healthcare aimed at bridging the gap in healthcare accessibility. The initiative provides free medical camps and disaster aid support to communities in remote areas. Since its inception, AVMMS has treated over 1.4 million individuals across India, the Middle East, and Africa, positively impacting lives in regions with limited or no access to medical facilities. The initiative operates a global network of over 40 units, with plans for further expansion in West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Gujarat.
