Colgate-Palmolive (India) announced the launch of the 11th edition of Oral Health Month (OHM) at the FDI Annual World Dental Congress in New Delhi. Conducted in association with the Indian Dental Association (IDA), this two-month intensive oral care initiative aims to create awareness to fight cavities and instill the importance of good oral hygiene through dental check-ups.
Spanning across October-November, OHM 2014 will reportedly offer in-clinic free cavity check-ups in 35000 locations across the country. Additionally, mobile dental vans armed with dental equipment and teams of dentists will travel across 45 cities to make dental check-ups accessible to school children as well as the underprivileged.
Elaborating further Dr Marsha Butler, VP, Global Oral Health and Professional Relations, Colgate-Palmolive Company added, “For a decade now, Colgate has focused its efforts on increasing oral care awareness and highlighting the importance of regular dental check-ups. With the focused support of the dental community, we are confident that Oral Health Month 2014 will contribute immensely towards a cavity-free future.”
With a decade-long successful partnership focused on Oral Health, Dr Ashok Dhoble, Hon. Secretary General, Indian Dental Association said, “With Oral Health Month 2014, we enter our eleventh year of privileged association with Colgate. This national oral hygiene awareness program that has grown phenomenally in the past ten years is the biggest in terms of its scale and outreach. Through the initiative, we are encouraging people to avail of free dental check-ups and understand basic habits to maintain better oral health. This year we are looking at over 35,000 dentists to support and spread basic oral health education and awareness.”
Eric Jumbert, Director, Marketing, Colgate-Palmolive (India) added, “We would like to thank IDA, which has helped make this programme a success over the last 10 years. Oral care awareness is the prime focus for Colgate, with the Oral Health Month being an important pillar to champion the cause. We are proud that in 2013, the campaign successfully reached 4.9 million consumers in rural as well as urban India. In our constant endeavour to take OHM to the next level, in 2014 we aim to reach six million consumers across the country. This year’s OHM encourages people to take the pledge for a ‘cavity-free future’ by getting a free dental checkup to keep their families protected from cavities.”
To avail of a free in-clinic dental check-up, one has to give a missed call between October 1 to November 30, 2014 on the toll free number 1800 4197 575.
