Fortis Hospitals Mulund, Mumbai was awarded the first prize in the hospitals sector for the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award -2012.
Fortis Hospitals, Mulund has been selected from more than 1,44,000 applications received across the country. The renowned tertiary care multi-speciality hospital at Mulund has been the recipient of many awards for its clinical excellence and is the first hospital to receive JCI re-accreditation for the third time. It was also awarded the FICCI award for Operational Excellence recently.
Energy conservation steps enabled at Fortis Mulund:

Dr S Narayani, Facility Director, Fortis Hospital Mulund said, “The combined efforts/results of the complete audit actually helped and the energy cost was substantially reduced. From the time the optimisation process started in late August’11, the unit could save as much as 4.78 lakh units in seven months showing a clear saving of 8.20 lakh units for the year. In the same period the bed capacity increased from 210 beds to 235 resulting in an areas increase of about 1500 sq.m.”
