As per data by Tracxn.com, 86.2 per cent funding in April occurred in the late stages.
Total funding in the healthcare, healthtech and lifesciences space saw a sharp spike to $332 million, over 15 rounds in April 2024. Funding was 1045 per cent higher from April 2023 ($29 million). When compared to the previous month, a hike of 291 per cent was observed from March 2024, when the total funding was at $85 million.
This is the highest observed number since November 2023 ($500 million)
In terms of stage-wise funding, the majority of it occurred in the final stages (86.2 per cent), followed by 12.2 per cent in the early-stage and 1.5 per cent in the seed-stage.
The biggest deal was secured by API Holdings, raising $216 million. Alkemi Growth Capital, Bharat Innovation Fund and Tomorrow Capital were the most active investors during the month, participating in one round each.
