Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences at NH Health City in Bangalore has launched its first comprehensive cardiac diagnostic centre – ‘SN Heart Station’ in association with SN Agarwal Foundation. Reportedly, the primary objective of this heart station is to provide comprehensive heart diagnostic services under one floor for all patients and to offer diagnosis at a quick pace. Also, with the increasing need for quality diagnosis, the heart station will cater to health scheme and non-scheme patients as well. Present on the occasion were Krishna Agarwal, wife of late Sri Niwas Agarwal and Dr Devi Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Health along with the senior consultants and staff of the hospital.
The heart station, apart from conventional cardiac facilities, boasts of advanced echocardiographic applications such as 3D ECHO, 3D Transoesophageal ECHO and Contrast ECHO. PACS system for archiving images is also available. It also caters to scheme patients and general OPD. The infrastructure of the heart station is expected to improve the accuracy of non-interventional diagnosis. The centre will be functional from 8 am to 8 pm.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Devi Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Health said, “Approximately 400 ECHO are performed at the hospital everyday and this heart station will improve the patient satisfaction in terms of reducing the waiting time.” He further added, “Our desire is to create a centre of excellence which can be a model to follow for other hospitals – both government and non-government.”
Specialised and continuous training programmes are also being provided to the technicians to ensure skilled personnel at the Heart Station.
Narayana Institute of Cardiac Science currently performs the largest number of heart surgeries in the world, attracting patients from 76 countries.
