On International Nurses Day, Wockhardt Hospitals has planned to connect with the nursing teams from all its branches through a video conference. The conference would also include a message from the MD and a felicitation programme. Representatives from nursing team of each hospital, along with their associates, would be attending the conference.
Speaking about the need to acknowledge nurses, Zahabiya Khorakiwala, MD, Wockhardt Hospitals, said, “This special day gives the community a chance to acknowledge and celebrate the crucial task nurses perform in day-to-day normal functioning of the hospital. Delivering quality care across all the hospitals and providing aged care each day and each night is not an easy job. We, at Wockhardt Hospitals, are happy to do our bit for the nurses today.”
Susanna C, Corporate Head Nursing, Wockhardt Hospitals, said, “Our nurses contribute to most of the healthcare services we render to our patients and the outcomes at our hospitals. It is but fitting to acknowledge their presence in the system. The team in Mumbai would be happy to connect with the other teams and celebrate the occasion.”
Nursing Leadership Programme in Wockhardt Hospitals recognises the managerial dimensions in nursing to train potential leaders and train them in key competencies. Through this programme, about 30 nurses are selected each year and trained through a yearlong programme to develop managerial skills to create ‘Nurse Leaders’ who will handle key administration/ leadership roles in the Wockhardt Hospitals Group. Through this programme, nurses are not only developed in their core area of nursing care but they are also developed in the areas of finance, information technology, human resources etc.
