Dr Saleem Mohammed, CEO and Co-Founder, Xcode Life Sciences was chosen by the prestigious MIT Technology Review as one among India’s top innovators under the age of 35 in its annual India TR35 listing. Xcode is a Chennai-based biotechnology start-up innovating in the field of healthcare and wellness solutions. The annual India TR35 or top innovators under 35 listing, honours young innovators whose inventions and research are changing the world. This recognition was conferred upon Dr Saleem Mohammed of Xcode in conjunction with Technology Review India’s annual conference focused on emerging technologies, Emtech.
The India TR35 is published annually by MIT Technology Review India and comprises technologists and scientists whose outstanding work in India, (spanning medicine, computing, communications, electronics and nanotechnology) has the highest impact locally and globally. Held at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore, the award ceremony brought together business leaders, senior technologists, investors, and innovative entrepreneurs to discuss the technological innovations that are changing the face of business and driving the global economy.
Dr Saleem Mohammed, CEO and Co-Founder of Xcode, was invited to make a presentation on the concept of lifelong wellness through personalised genetics. Discussing the important and life-changing role that genetic decoding can play in predicting chronic diseases, Dr Saleem highlighted Xcode’s offering ‘Lifelong Wellness’, as a preventive solution to India’s sky rocketing health worries.
For the India TR35 list, 200 nominees’ was assessed by an 18-person jury comprising eminent researchers, technologists from diverse areas based on the likely impact of their work on the industry and society, as well as its ingenuity, and timeliness.
