Fujifilm India unveiled the mikoto Colon Model, an endoscopy simulation technology, during the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES) Prof Dr B Krishna Rau Simulation Training Programme in Chennai. This launch demonstrates Fujifilm’s focus on advancing medical education and improving healthcare delivery in India.
The mikoto Colon Model is a medical training simulator designed to enhance endoscopy education. Combining advanced sensor technology with artificial intelligence, it provides realistic feedback, evaluates procedures, and scores performance. Its four difficulty levels enable self-paced learning for practitioners with different levels of expertise.

The IAGES Endoscopy Board has been actively promoting endoscopy training for surgeons since 2016. Dr Subhash Agarwal, President of IAGES, stated, “Thanks to the efforts of Prof B. Krishna Rau, Dr Easwaramoorthy, Dr Satish Midha, and Dr K. Govindaraj, as well as the support from the IAGES Chennai 2024 team, we are now set to launch Prof BKR Simulation-based training programmes.”
