Over the past eight years, GIBS has tirelessly worked to elevate the level of education and awareness surrounding IC/BPS
The Global Interstitial Cystitis Bladder Pain Society (GIBS) has announced its 9th annual conference, taking place on August 24-25, 2024, at Hotel Pride Plaza in Delhi. This significant event is a cornerstone for the global scientific community dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of Interstitial Cystitis and Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS).
Founded in 2016, GIBS represents the first initiative in India to address IC/BPS, a condition once thought to predominantly affect individuals in Western countries. Conceptualised and led by esteemed urologists Dr Rajesh Taneja (Chairman, GIBS) and Dr Sanjay Pandey (Secretary, GIBS), along with Vishal Jajodia (CMD, Swati Spentose), the society has been instrumental in shifting the focus to this often-neglected condition within the pharmaceutical and medical communities globally.
“In the early days, IC/BPS was a topic seldom discussed or addressed in many parts of the world, especially in India,” said Jajodia. “Our mission has always been to bring this critical issue to the forefront, fostering a platform for scientific dialogue and patient care improvement.”
Over the past eight years, GIBS has tirelessly worked to elevate the level of education and awareness surrounding IC/BPS. Through steadfast scientific commitment, the society has garnered international recognition, marking significant progress in the global understanding and management of the condition.
The 9th annual conference will feature distinguished speakers, panel discussions, and the latest research findings, providing an invaluable opportunity for learning and collaboration among healthcare professionals. Key topics will include novel therapeutic approaches, patient management strategies, and emerging research in IC/BPS. Notably, 18 international subject experts will be attending, sharing their extensive experiences and insights with the attendees.
The media is invited to attend and cover the highlights of the congress on August 24, 2024, at 7 PM, followed by a dinner. This event promises to offer exclusive insights into groundbreaking advancements and the collective efforts of experts dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
Join us in our journey to advance the understanding and treatment of Interstitial Cystitis and Bladder Pain Syndrome. Together, we can make a difference.
