Apollo Diagnostics opens 140th processing lab in South Kolkata

New lab in Kasba expands access to high-quality diagnostic services

Apollo Diagnostics, a unit of Apollo Health and Lifestyle, has launched its 140th processing lab in India, located in Kasba, South Kolkata. The new lab, spanning over 1,500 square feet, has a monthly processing capacity of more than 25,000 samples and offers a range of tests, including routine and specialised diagnostics, along with home sample collection services.

The lab features multiple divisions, including Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Serology, and Microbiology, and is equipped with fully automated instruments to minimise manual errors. Operating in line with NABL quality standards, the lab ensures precise and accurate test results. Certified and professionally trained lab doctors and technicians provide expert services to customers; informed the statement.

The new facility was inaugurated by Javed Ahmed Khan, MLA of Kasba Constituency. Apollo Diagnostics now has five labs in the region and over 200 centres across West Bengal, addressing the growing demand for reliable diagnostic services.

“Our new lab in Kasba helps us improve the turnaround time on reports and also strengthens our position in the state of West Bengal. Patients can now receive world-class diagnostic services right here”, said Sriram Iyer, Chief Executive Officer, Apollo Health & Lifestyle.

“We have come up with a state-of-the-art laboratory at Kasba. We have included a lot of preventive health check-ups to address the problems like diabetes, hypertension and  cancer diagnosis. We are investing a lot in  in West Bengal. We are coming up with a regional reference lab for east and setting up almost 10,000 sq ft facility state-of-the-art molecular diagnostics as well as histopathology that will address more complex diseases like cancer. The investment will be of over 250 crores and the facility will be operational  by October 15,” said Devendra Singh Rajput, COO Of Apollo Diagnostics.
