hESC plays a vital role in treating neurological disorders and have huge potential for differentiation and can provide neuronal or glial cells for transplantation
Sudhir, an army man, recently underwent hESC therapy at Nutech Mediworld, New Delhi, as a severe accident caused him to loose his body sensation, bowel and bladder control. He underwent various surgeries and therapies but there was no improvement in his condition.
Sudhir, under the guidance of Dr Geeta Shroff, Director-Nutech Mediworld, was succesfully treated. Says Dr Shroff, “The patient regained sensation in both his legs, thighs and hips, immediately after the completion of first session of the therapy which lasted for three weeks. After the three sessions of the treatment, the patient had regained mild sensation in his bladder and bowel functions. With support, he is able to walk for upto half an hour and also feels confident to regain better quality of life soon.
Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) play a vital role in treating neurological disorders and have a huge potential for differentiation and can provide neuronal or glial cells for transplantation. After his recovery Sudhir was able to rejoin the army after being bed-ridden for four years.
