The Department of Neonatology at KIMSHEALTH Trivandrum recently achieved re-accreditation as level III B, the highest ranking in the country, by the National Neonatology Forum of India (NNFI). The revised standards of NNFI include evaluation of infrastructure, trained manpower, and processes ensuring patient (mother and baby) safety, along with quality care processes.
Under the leadership of Dr Naveen Jain, senior consultant, the department has six highly qualified consultants and over ten specialists. Additionally, the center has received accreditation from the National Board of Education and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
According to the statement, the hospital is equipped to safely care for newborns as young as 24 weeks and weighing as little as 500 grams.
Moreover, the Neonatal & Paediatric Departments at the hospital offers a range of services including pediatric cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, nephrology, allergy and asthma, development services, intensive care, and emergency services.
