FOGSI organises International Women’s Health Summit in Delhi

Social entrepreneurs and founders of the Niine Movement Amar and Payal Tulsiyan were presented with the Partners in Health Award

Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) recently organised International Women’s Health Summit in Delhi. The summit convened medical and health experts to discuss the major issues and advancements regarding the treatment of women’s reproductive health, with a particular focus on pregnancy. Moderated by Dr Lila Vyas and Dr Madhuri Patel, the Adolescent Girls’ Health session featured medical experts including Dr Sampath Kumari, Dr Bharti Maheshwari, Dr Vinita Singh, Dr Gunjan Gupta, Dr Vaishali Chavan, Dr Parul Nigam and Dr Nidhi Khera.

Social entrepreneurs and founders of the Niine Movement Amar and Payal Tulsiyan were presented with the Partners in Health Award by Dr Jaideep Malhotra, President, FOGSI. They discussed the importance of menstrual hygiene management as well as the need to tackle the stigmas associated with menstruation during ‘Adolescent Girls’ Health’ panel. The Niine Movement announced their strategic partnership with FOGSI in a bid to spearhead activities across India.

The FOGSI International Women’s Health Summit also celebrated the exceptional contributions of individuals towards the welfare of society. In recognition of their work towards tackling the taboos and stigmas associated with menstrual hygiene, Amar Tulsiyan and Payal Tulsiyan were presented the prestigious Partner in Health Award.
