The foundation stone laying ceremony for Amtrita Patel Centre for Public Health was recently held on the occasion of the 75th birthday of Dr Amrita Patel, Chairman, Charutar Arogya Mandal, Karamsad. The Members of Board of Governance Atul Patel ,Honorary Secretary, Jagrut Bhatt, Former Governing President, Hasmukh Shah, Chairman, Charutar Vidhya Mandal Shri Bhikhubhai Patel. Trustees of Savitaben Hirubhai Patel Memorial Foundation Mafatbhai Patel and Shantibhai Patel, other dignitaries and staff were present at the ceremony.
The centre will identify the health needs of rural areas and conduct the activities related to community health programme. It will provide platform for public health intervention for enabling policy coherence. The centre will impart the training to grass root health workers and workforce in publish health leadership. Public health related research activities will also be conducted at the centre. The centre spread across 13000 square feet of two storeyed building will have a conference room, seminar room, practical lab, library and other amenities.
Community extension is one of the key initiatives of Charutar Arogaya Mandal. It conducts various health related programme in 150 villages of Anand, Kheda and Panchmahal district. It includes home-based diagnosis and treatment of non-communicable diseases, awareness of seasonal diseases, mother and child care and cancer prevention and cure programme. These programmes will be managed under the upcoming public health centre.
