HCAH, a provider of out-of-hospital healthcare solutions in India, has announced a new initiative focused on improving patient recovery through enhanced wound care. The initiative involves a partnership with Aroa Biosurgery, a New Zealand-based company known for developing medical and surgical products for soft tissue regeneration and complex wound healing.
Aroa Biosurgery is introducing new product lines specifically designed for treating complex vascular and diabetic wounds, offering solutions that aim to improve healing outcomes and patient recovery.
As part of this collaboration, HCAH has launched the “WOW (Warriors of Woundcare) Nurses” program. This initiative focuses on the prevention and treatment of bedsores, also known as pressure ulcers, which are a common complication for patients with limited mobility.
Vivek Srivastava, Founder and CEO of HCAH, stated, “In recognising the ongoing efforts of our healthcare professionals, we continue to highlight the exceptional contributions of our nurses. Nurses are at the heart of patient care, and the WOW Nurses will undoubtedly become champions of wound care, ensuring a superior patient experience and expediting the healing process.”
Bedsores can slow recovery, increase the length of hospital stays, and elevate the risk of infections. HCAH’s initiative aims to address these challenges through specialised training for its nurses. The company has reported success in managing pressure ulcers, with a recent study showing that 64 per cent of pressure ulcer cases were grade 2, and 62 per cent of patients saw significant improvement.
Dr Gaurav Thukral, Co-Founder and COO of HCAH, said, “Our aim is zero bed sores, and the introduction of ‘WOW Nurses’ is a key step towards this goal. This initiative enhances patient recovery, reduces complications, and improves comfort.”
HCAH is investing in international training for its nurses, focusing on advanced wound care management techniques. The goal is to provide patients with up-to-date care that promotes faster recovery and better outcomes.
Dr Patrick Hunt, Director of Business Development at Aroa Biosurgery, commented on the partnership, saying, “We’re proud to support HCAH Rehab & Recovery Centre’s commitment to enhancing post-surgery care, especially for patients with bedsores. As exclusive partners in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, we recognise the importance of specialised training.”
The WOW Nurses initiative marks a significant step in improving patient care, particularly for those at risk of developing bedsores. HCAH aims to continue advancing wound care through ongoing research, education, and training.
