Metropolis Healthcare to acquire Dr. Ahujas’ Pathology and Imaging Centre

Ameera Shah-led Metropolis Healthcare announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Metropolis Histoxpert Digital Services, has entered into a business transfer agreement to acquire Dehradun’s diagnostic chain – Dr. Ahujas’ Pathology and Imaging Centre (DAPIC).

Founded in 1990 by Dr. Alok Ahuja and Dr. Alka Ahuja, DAPIC the organisation operates two laboratories accredited by NABL and NABH, 11 patient service centres, and nine hospital-based centres. It offers pathology and soft radiology services, including ultrasound, ECG, and X-ray. In FY 2024-25, DAPIC recorded an estimated annual revenue of Rs 11.5 crore (unaudited*), with pathology services contributing 73 per cent and radiology services 27 per cent. With 80 per cent of its revenue coming from walk-in patients, the chain has built a strong B2C presence.

Under the agreement, Metropolis’ wholly owned subsidiary Metropolis Histoxpert Digital Services will acquire 100 per cent ownership of DAPIC in an all-cash deal valued at Rs 35.01 crores. To ensure a seamless transition, Dr Alok Ahuja and Dr Alka Ahuja will continue their association with the business post-acquisition. 

EY was the exclusive financial adviser to DAPIC and BDO India LLP acted as the financial advisor to Metropolis Healthcare Limited.
