The Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha is signing an agreement with Glocal Healthcare Systems, Kolkata for Operation and Management of 102 digital dispensary services in 23 districts of the state.
Earlier, the project was implemented in 25 locations of Nabarangpur and five locations of Keonjhar districts in partnership mode with Glocal Healthcare Systems. It sought to to assure quality primary healthcare and find linkages to available secondary and tertiary healthcare for the people in difficult areas. Till date more than 1.11 lakh beneficiaries have availed services from these digital dispensaries.
The digital dispensaries were established to harness the potential of healthcare technology through a telemedicine network in selected locations of Nabarangpur and Keonjhar districts.
The facilities available at digital dispensaries are consultations with doctors through video conferencing, manpower (pharmacist, nurse, laboratory assistant, support staff), equipment, instrument and furniture, internet connectivity, minimum set of investigations like routine urine, blood tests; haemoglobin, blood sugar, malaria, dengue tests; BP, ECG, sPO2, pregnancy detection etc., e-prescription, pharmacy facility with dispensing of generic medicine, and online data report of daily transactions (consultation) – centerwise.
To continue with the success of digital dispensaries, the Government of Odisha has decided scaled up to further 102 locations across 23 districts of the state, namely Angul, Balasore, Baragarh, Bhadrak, Bolangir, Boudh, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri, Rayagada, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Sundargarh.
