Park Hospital in Gurugram has introduced a new Robotic-Assisted Surgery program designed to improve the precision and control of complex surgical procedures. Utilizing the da Vinci robotic surgical systems, the hospital’s medical team can now perform a variety of surgeries with increased accuracy, reduced tissue damage, and quicker recovery times compared to traditional methods.
The program covers a wide range of surgical specialties including general, abdominal, colorectal, oncology, gynecological, and urological surgery. The available robotic-assisted procedures include robotic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, inguinal hernia surgery, and abdominal wall reconstruction. In abdominal surgery, the program offers robotic fundoplication, Heller’s myotomy, splenectomy, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass. Colorectal surgery includes robotic colorectal surgery and rectopexy, while oncology surgery provides advanced robotic procedures for various cancers. Gynecological options include robotic hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, and pelvic organ prolapse repair. Urological surgery features robotic prostatectomy, nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, and ureteral reimplantation.
The robotic-assisted surgeries provide several benefits such as reduced bleeding, smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times.
Dr Anshuman Kaushal, Director, Department of Minimal Access, Metabolic, Bariatric & Robotic Surgery, stated, “The introduction of robotic-assisted surgery at Park Hospital is a major step forward in patient care. This technology enables us to perform surgeries with enhanced precision, which could lead to reduced recovery times and postoperative complications. Our aim is to make these advanced surgical options accessible to a wider range of patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality care.”
Dr Salil Yadav, Sr Consultant, Department of Minimal Access, Metabolic, Bariatric & Robotic Surgery, added, “With robotic-assisted surgery, we can now offer patients minimally invasive procedures that are both less painful and more precise. This technology allows us to perform both open and laparoscopic surgeries with precision. It also enhances our ability to handle complex cases with greater accuracy and control, leading to better outcomes and quicker recoveries.”
Park Hospital, part of the Park Group of Hospitals—a rapidly expanding healthcare network in North India—features a 250-bed multispecialty facility. The hospital combines advanced technology with a patient-centered approach to provide high-quality medical and surgical care.
