In an effort to advance diabetes management and promote early testing, Protinex Diabetes Care has partnered with Apollo Health Co (Apollo 24|7) to raise awareness about diabetes through the Protinex Diabetes Care initiative. This collaboration, announced ahead of World Diabetes Day, provides consumers who purchase Protinex Diabetes Care with a complimentary HbA1c test, a recognised standard for long-term glucose monitoring. The test measures average blood glucose levels over the past two to three months and can be conducted via a home collection service available through Apollo 24|7. The offer will run until 30 November.
This initiative focuses on encouraging regular blood glucose testing and proactive health measures, aiming to make blood sugar monitoring more accessible and affordable, thereby supporting individuals in managing their diabetes.
India has one of the highest rates of diabetes globally, with over 101 million people, or 11.4 per cent of the population, living with the condition, according to a recent Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) study. Effective diabetes management, alongside regular testing and lifestyle adjustments, is crucial for improving health outcomes.
Protinex Diabetes Care provides support for blood sugar control with a scientifically designed formula that includes 11 immuno-nutrients for immunity support, a clinically proven low-GI formula, and high fibre content to aid in cholesterol reduction. Through this partnership, Protinex highlights the significance of early diagnosis and ongoing diabetes management.
“The right nutrition is crucial in the battle against diabetes. It’s not just about managing blood sugar levels but also about early diagnosis and management,” said Sriram Padmanabhan, Marketing Director of Danone India. “This World Diabetes Day, we are proud to collaborate with Apollo Health Co (Apollo 24|7) to empower individuals in their diabetes management journey. By offering a complimentary HbA1c test, we hope to remove some of the barriers that prevent individuals from regularly monitoring their health. Through this synergy, we are dedicated to raising awareness about the benefits of protein and fibre in managing diabetes and make a meaningful impact on diabetes care in India.”
Echoing this vision, Madhava Krishna, VP – Category at Apollo Health Co (Apollo 24|7), added, “Our partnership with Protinex Diabetes Care aligns perfectly with this vision by making essential diabetes testing widely available. Protein and fibre play crucial roles in diabetes management, helping regulate blood sugar and maintain sustained energy. By incorporating these nutrients in diet alongside regular health checks, we aim to support individuals in taking meaningful steps toward managing their health. Together, we hope to create greater awareness and make diabetes care more accessible for all.”
To expand outreach, Protinex Diabetes Care will enhance its presence in Apollo retail stores and online platforms, spreading awareness about the importance of early diabetes diagnosis and effective management. Additionally, Apollo has set up a dedicated toll-free number for inquiries, allowing consumers to easily access information about their tests and health services.
The partnership aligns with Danone’s mission to promote health through nutrition, reinforcing Protinex Diabetes Care’s commitment to supporting optimal health for people with diabetes while ensuring essential nutrients remain accessible. When combined with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, this initiative aims to contribute to the wellbeing of individuals across India.
