In a webinar organised by Rosatom, Sergey Evdonin, Project Head, Rosatom Healthcare explained how nuclear medicine technology is being increasingly adopted across the world and demand for nuclear medicine products and solutions have seen rapid growth.
Elaborating upon the products and solutions, Evdonin added that broadly, Rusatom Healthcare offers products and solutions in three broader categories; diagnostic facilities, therapeutic facilities, and integrated solutions for GMP standard radiopharmaceutical production. In addition to off-the-shelf offerings, the solutions can be optimised and configured as per the needs of the customer.
With regard to opportunities for India in using nuclear technology for non-energy generation purposes, Edvonin stated that Rusatom Healthcare is going to co-operate with local companies for delivery high technology solutions in medicine which will greatly enhance the efficiency of diagnostics in particularly oncological cases. He further added that nuclear technology can play a major role in reducing the agricultural produce waste, which is quite high in India, through Ionising Radiation Treatment.
Concluding the webinar, In addition to nuclear medicine, Rusatom is also providing project solutions for Ionising Radiation Treatment of Products including food and agriculture products, medical products and polymer materials.
