Siemens Healthineers, a global leader in medical diagnostics, announces its pioneering implementation of the new Atellica CI, independent integrated diagnostic testing analyser at Mahajan Imaging & Labs, to make patient care more predictable and agile in today’s evolving healthcare landscape. This state-of-the-art analyser is designed to significantly enhance patient comfort by providing faster, more accurate results. Mahajan Imaging & Labs, India’s leading medical imaging and diagnostics provider, continues to lead the way in integrated diagnostics while adopting advanced technologies that improve both the diagnostic experience and overall patient well-being.
The new Atellica CI analyser is a marvel of medical technology in a compact footprint, capable of analysing over 200 parameters, covering 20 disease states. The analyser’s microvolume technology maximises test yield from a single sample aspiration. This feature is particularly beneficial for paediatric and critical cases where low-volume sample testing is essential. The analyser’s ability to process critical tests within 14 minutes—compared to the conventional 22 to 40 minutes—sets a new standard for rapid diagnostics. Additionally, emergency assays can be aspirated in just one minute, with results completed in 10 minutes, further streamlining urgent care. The analyser features a novel “Enhanced Liver Fibrosis (ELF)” test to augment prognosis of Liver Fibrosis, a huge disease burden in India. In 2015, India contributed to 18.3 per cent of the global Liver health related deaths1, and the ELF test can play a vital role in reducing this burden by early detection of liver disease. Further, the advanced technology excels in performing complex and rare tests, such as preeclampsia screening during gestation, with remarkable precision.
Dr Harsh Mahajan, Founder & Chief Radiologist of Mahajan Imaging & Labs, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Being the first to implement the Atellica CI Analyser is a significant milestone for us and further strengthens our foray into pathology and integrated diagnostics. Liver disease is now of utmost importance in our country. By combining the ELF test with the High End Ultrasound guided Fibro scan, we can very precisely know the current functional and structural status, and predict the onset of Liver disease, non-invasively. This is an example of how combining medical imaging with laboratory diagnostics can play a pivotal role in decision making and providing better treatment outcomes.”
The analyser meets sustainability standards, utilising less water, fewer tubes and generating less plastic waste. This commitment to sustainability aligns with Mahajan Imaging & Labs’ dedication to eco-conscious practices. The analyser supports advanced diagnostics with parameters such as FMF approved dual markers for maternal screening, AMH for assessing ovarian reserve, active vitamin B12, and ferritin testing for women’s health; oncology markers that aid in the early detection of cancers like PSA (test used to screen for prostate cancer) and ovarian cancer. Enabled by advanced AI technology, the system minimises manual errors, enhance operational efficiency, and ensures test accuracy, even after biotin or gummy intake, which many impact results from other machines. It also tests for active vitamin D levels, enhancing its versatility for comprehensive health monitoring.
Ranabir Sinha, Head of Diagnostics – Zone India, Siemens Healthineers, commented on the collaboration, “Mahajan Imaging & Labs has consistently been a pioneer in introducing the latest technologies in the field of radiology. With the introduction of Atellica CI Analyser in India, we are proud to partner with them in their foray into pathology and laboratory diagnostics. Installation of this innovative solution, powered by AI, reflects our shared vision of leveraging advanced technology to augment and enhance the capability of healthcare professionals and improve healthcare outcomes.”
Sharing the usefulness of the machine for the Indian diagnostics industry, Sinha said, “The unique compact design of the analyser ensures optimal lab space utilisation as space is a constraint for labs in India.”
Dr Shelly Mahajan, Lab Director and Clinical Lead of Mahajan Imaging & Labs, highlighted the system’s future-ready capabilities, saying, “We have rigorously validated the analyser over the last 5 months in our reference lab at Mahajan Imaging & Labs. The analyser helps us to enable predictive care to the patients, secure data, ensure a quick Turn Around Time (TAT) all while reaching environmental goals. This new analyser is not only a game-changer for current diagnostics but ensures streamlined workflow and precise diagnostics. The analyser is equipped with Laboratory Evaluation Suite and delivers inspection-ready reports. This forward-thinking approach ensures that we remain at the forefront of diagnostic innovation, continuously improving patient care standards.”
This advanced analyser has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) thereby confirm the analysers’ and Mahajan Imaging & Labs’ adherence to the highest international standards of safety, effectiveness, and reliability.
Mahajan Imaging & Labs is setting new standards in diagnostic excellence, enhancing speed, accuracy, and patient comfort with the integration of Siemens Healthineers’ cutting-edge diagnostic testing technology.
