Surya Sahyadri Hospitals recently conducted a live surgery workshop for over 100 general surgeons from across the state of Maharashtra. The live surgeries were performed as a part of an academic training. A total of seven hernia surgeries were performed including complicated procedures and techniques.
Reportedly, the surgeries were performed by surgeons from Mumbai and Pune and were live broadcasted from Surya Sahyadri Hospitals Operation Theatre to Institute of Engineers Auditorium at Shivajinagar. The initiative was applauded by the Maharashtra Medical Council, who has also decided to award the surgeons with two MMC points and a participation certificate. The workshop was also attended by Dr Prakash Marathe, President, Indian Medical Association Pune (IMA) as the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) Observer.
The brainchild behind initiating this series of Live Surgical workshops in Pune, Dr Jaisingh Shinde, General Surgeon, Sahyadri Hospitals. The initiative also included lectures from experts on various techniques available at the hospital. The screening also highlighted the hospitals centre which is equipped with comprehensive medical unit and highly advanced operation theatre.
