As many as 3,011 PHCs, 855 CHCs, 592 urban PHCs are functional in Uttar Pradesh
In a bid to provide easy access to proper health and medical facilities to people in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government will connect all the primary health centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs) in both rural and urban areas of the state to the main roads.
In this regard, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued directives to substantially expand road connectivity in a systematic manner to connect all primary health centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs) in the entire state to the main routes so that the medical facilities get within reach of people.
There are a total of 3,011 PHCs and as many as 855 CHCs in the state. While the number of PHCs in the urban areas is about 592. The state capital has over nine CHCs, 28 PHCs, 52 health post centres and eight urban PHCs.
In pursuance of CM’s orders, the work to improve road connectivity and to improve the condition of roads has also intensified – the construction and repair work of dilapidated roads is being done.
With the second wave of COVID-19 receding and the monsoon season around the corner, the UP government has also made efforts to expedite road maintenance in order to remove any sort of obstructions faced by the patients in having access to health centres.
