Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant at Puspanjali Crosslay: Quality & Excellence

Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital (PCH), located on the eastern part of NCR, at the Delhi-Ghaziabad border, is a 350+ bedded super speciality hospital. The hospital claims that it aims to provide the highest quality of healthcare to a broad mix of local and international patients, and is amongst the few hospitals in the region to have accreditation by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). PCH has several highly specialised Centres of Excellence that comprise multi-speciality treatment facilities including Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant.

The Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant is a ‘Centre of Excellence’ at PCH which runs under the guidance of eminent nephrologists. The Centre is equipped with 27-bedded haemodialysis units, backed by trained medical officers 24*7 and conducting close to 2000 dialysis per month. We have separate equipment for Hepatitis B+ patients which reduce the chance of infection being transmitted to negative/other patients. Over the years, with the help of specialised and trained staff backed by latest technology the number of dialysis is continuously rising with healthy follow-up.

The department also provides supportive care to critically ill patients who might be in need of special dialysis called Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). The department also routinely conducts procedures like plasmapheries, emofiltrations and kidney biopsy.

Kidney Transplant- Since 2012, the department has the expertise to provide the latest in Kidney Transplant Programme. A dedicated transplant OT backed by transplant ICU provides high quality care to patients. The team has successfully conducted more than 10 kidney transplants, including international patients, since the start of the programme and many patients are lined up for future months under the transplant programme. 

Apart from treating patients, the Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant also runs diploma courses (six months course) for dialysis technicians, within its own infrastructure.

The Department also at regular intervals conducts various awareness programmes educating patients/general public about preventing kidney diseases for which a handout is also released called “Know Your Kidney”.
