Ziqitza’s Gulf Medical Response and Ambulance Services (GMRAS), a subsidiary of Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd recently won a tender to service the upcoming Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai. Ziqitza GMRAS will be licensed by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS). This is the first time a private player in the EMS category has made a foray into the Dubai market.
As part of the tender, GMRAS will be providing ambulance back up service for the Al Maktoum airport where the construction is currently underway. With 10 ambulances operational in Dubai, Ziqitza has the largest fleet of ambulances in the city, only after the Government managed service. The Indian 108 ambulance service provider will also help them with the upcoming World Expo 2020 at Dubai, UAE.
Commenting on the new project, Mr. Nijil Ibrahimkutty, CEO, Ziqitza Gulf Medical Response India said, “We are honored that DCAS has bestowed us with the responsibility of servicing Al Maktoum International Airport. Khalifa Hassan Al Darrai, Executive Director and CEO, DCAS recently visited Ziqitza Health Care Ltd head office in Mumbai to meet and discuss with the management on the possibility of working together closely to develop the world class service in the Emirate of Dubai and to work towards achieving the vision and targets set by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the honourable vice president of UAE and ruler of Dubai. Ziqitza Gulf has also won the tender for providing the Ambulance back up service for the production unit of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority at Jebal Ali.
Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd., Asia’s largest ambulance provider, has been a pioneer in the Emergency Medical Response Services (EMS) and Patient Transport Services in India since 2003 and they will be closely working with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services vide their foreign subsidiaries.
