Apex Hospitals organises knee screenings for elders
Apex Hospitals Mumbai has organised a knee check up camp for elders of Dada Dadi club Borivali. Apex Aims to reach and benefit 5,000 elders from the area. The camp is on till July 31, 2012 at Apex Hospital Borivali. The camp will offer health checkups, X-ray and consultation to senior citizens.
Dr Makhwana, Orthopedician at Apex Hospital and Head of the Camp said, “Our knees get eroded with our age. We have noticed that senior citizens suffer from knee and hip joint disorders and are then advised to undergo replacements. It is necessary that the senior citizens get proper treatment and awareness of their bone health. Hence we have organised this camp for them.”
Apex Hospital has been undertaking various such camps under its CSR initiatives to help people with various problems. It has recognised the serious knee problems that the elders face and have kept this camp for their health benefit. Under this camp it has already reached more than 100 senior citizens and expects to reach many more.
