Axio Biosolutions, a medical device designer, manufacturer company, has obtained the European Union Class III Medical Device CE mark approval for its range of emergency haemostatic dressing – Axiostat. The CE mark designation will allow Axiostat to be sold in the European Union and other countries.
It is an advanced class of wound dressing that stops traumatic external bleeding reportedly within few minutes of application by providing an active mechanical barrier to the wound site. The sterile, single use, non-absorbable haemostatic dressing intended to be used for temporary control of bleeding wounds stops moderate to severe bleeding due to cuts, abrasions, lacerations, venous or arterial bleeding. Axiostat is also approved for use in India and is being used by paramedics, doctors, paramilitary and army soldiers, industry workers etc. With a three year shelf life it is available in various sizes. This approval represents a significant milestone for Axio.
