Dr Murad Lala, a practicing onco-surgoen at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai, has scaled the Mount Everest. He started his trek early last week, accompanied by six other trekkers. The team was assisted by six climbing Sherpas of the Everest region. Dr Lala and his team of trekkers reached the summit on May 19, 2013 at 9.10 am. Dr Lala is the first doctor from India to have achieved this feat.
Dr Lala has been associated with Hinduja Hospital since 2001. He is a part of the department of Surgical Oncology and has penned many research papers. He loves adventure and has travelled all around the world sharing his knowledge on the field. He has also participated in many adventure sports around the world and has recently won the Himalayan Car Rally.
Dr Lala has already begun his descent from the summit and is expected to return to Mumbai early next month.
