NEC launches UNIVERGE Cloud services for SMBs and business enterprises

NEC India has launched the latest generation of its Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) software, UNIVERGE Cloud Services for its SMB and business enterprises customers in India. The UNIVERGE Cloud services is a complete, software-based unified communications and collaboration solution that redefines the way an enterprise communicates. It enables access anywhere, anytime, operates across premise, cloud or hybrid environments and ensures business continuity through a single application platform.

NEC’s UNIVERGE Cloud services includes a comprehensive suite of voice, data and video services featuring a simple, web-based end-user client that is deployable across any device, including PCs, smartphones and tablets. The cloud service integrates multiple communication and collaboration tools such as, IP telephony, voicemail, audio and video conferencing, as well as web collaboration, presence and IM and contact centres – all in a simple, service-based model that is designed to replace high costs with an affordable monthly fee.

Commenting on the launch, Ravinder Raina, Country Head – Private Network Solutions (PNS), NEC India said, “We are strong in the SME space in India and we see a strong uptake for cloud-based unified communication solutions amongst large as well as small and medium enterprises. Indian SMEs currently contribute to about 60 per cent of NEC’s revenues in the telephony space. With the launch of this solution we aim to target this segment is a more focused manner. With our suite of customised telephony solutions, we aim to attain 35 per cent market share in Indian SME segment in FY2012-13.”

NEC’s UNIVERGE Cloud Services aims at empowering businesses with simple-to-manage and secure alternative to on-premises. With this solution, NEC intends to capitalise on the next wave of convergence”.
