Transasia Bio-Medicals organises blood donation drive on the occasion of World Blood Donors Day

As part of its corporate social responsibility inititaves, Mumbai-headquartered Transasia Bio-Medicals, in association with Think Foundation and Sir JJ Mahanagar Blood Bank organised a blood donation drive, which saw more than 65 Transasians come forward to donate blood all through the day.

The focus of this year’s campaign, the 10th anniversary of World Blood Donors Day, was ‘blood donation as a gift that saves lives’.

Globally, World Blood Donors Day is celebrated to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary donors for their life saving gift of life.

Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions, live longer and with high quality of life. However, in many countries, there is an inadequate supply of safe blood, and blood services face the challenge of making sufficient blood available, while also ensuring its quality and safety.
