JNPT converts multi-skill training centre into covid care hospital

The hospital with 120 beds and ambulance service has been handed over to the state authorities temporarily for the protection of the local community

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has taken various preventive measures to join the fight against COVID-19. Earlier this week, JNPT has converted its multi-skill training centre at Bokadvira into a covid care hospital with 120 beds and ambulance service and handed it over to the state authorities temporarily for the protection of the local community.

JNPT has been carrying out extensive community disinfectant spraying and sanitation drives in all its nearby villages and has also handed over infra-red temperature guns to the sarpanchs of these villages as a preventive measure.

Sanjay Sethi, Chairman, JNPT said, “JNPT is very conscious of its role and responsibility towards the extended JNPT family and is committed towards them. By handing over of our training centre as covid care centre to the state authorities, we are trying to increase the preparedness of the local community in fighting this pandemic. I am sure, together we will win this fight against COVID-19”.

The port authorities, has been diligently deploying all the sanitary guidelines issued for the safety of its workforce with regular fogging and spraying of all buses. JNPT has also provided accommodation to the staff of the terminals, drivers in the township along with providing meal packets and health check-ups to all truck drivers who are working tirelessly to keep the operations going.
