The tie up will help gain access to real-time medical consultations in areas that have scarce resources

JSPL Foundation has tied up with Extension of Community Health Outreach (ECHO), a healthcare programme that uses technology to expand access to speciality healthcare in rural and medically underserved areas. JSPL Foundation and ECHO will provide speciality healthcare to rural India.

ECHO, a project of the University of New Mexico (UNM) Health Sciences, uses healthcare services through case-based learning. This programme provides rural communities with an opportunity to obtain real-time consultation with specialists and other critical disease management through Q&A sessions via web/ teleconference. ECHO implements such preventive extension models with the help of community health workers through rigorous training embedded with technology.

The tie up is expected to help provide medical facilities in areas that have scarce resources such as Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh. With their technological expertise, healthcare can now be provided to people living in the rural areas. They will have access to real-time medical consultations for complex medical cases and we hope to see many lives benefitting from these facilities.

JSPL Foundation will be connecting the telemedicine centre to Jindal Fortis Hospitals, Jindal Cancer and Referral Hospital, Hisar, Medical College, Agroha, Max, Fortis Hospitals, All India Institute of Cancer and Biliary Sciences, AIMS and NIMHANS.
