DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune launches Paediatric Cardiac ICU

DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune, has inaugurated its new Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 10-bed facility dedicated to providing specialised care for children with heart conditions. This unit is equipped with advanced medical technology and staffed by expert healthcare professionals, ensuring comprehensive cardiac care and the best possible outcomes for paediatric patients.
This initiative has been made possible by the CSR support of Bajaj Finserv, highlighting their commitment to enhancing Child Healthcare and Paediatric Infrastructure in Pune city.
The inauguration ceremony was honoured by the presence of Shefali Bajaj, Chairperson of Bajaj Finserv Steering Committee; Siddhant Bajaj; Dr PD Patil, Chancellor, Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pimpri, Pune; Dr Bhagyashree Patil, Pro-Chancellor, Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, (Deemed to be University), Pimpri, Pune; Dr Yashraj Patil, Trustee and Treasurer, Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pimpri, Pune; Sudin Apte, Rotary Club of Pune Pristine; Dr Shubhangi Bochare, Deputy National Lead, Bajaj Finserv. The inauguration was also graced by the presence of Dr Anurag Garg, Professor and Head, Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and Senior Consultant, DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune, along with CVTS team, medical professionals, hospital staff and other dignitaries.
According to Dr Anurag Garg, each year, only around 15-20 per cent of children receive treatment for congenital heart defects due to the paucity of specialised centres. The newly established Paediatric Cardiac ICU aims to address this critical gap by providing advanced treatment for children with congenital and acquired heart conditions. Led by Dr Anurag Garg and the CVTS team, the unit is committed to delivering world-class healthcare. By offering exceptional patient-centric care and renewed hope, it strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
