Spirit of Humanity, an initiative by Americares, recognised and rewarded six NGOs in varied impact sectors in its finale held recently in Mumbai. The participants underwent three rigorous rounds of shortlisting and the winners were announced in a grand award ceremony in the evening.

Spirit of Humanity is a national-level platform for collaboration, capacity building and recognition within the social sector in India. The finale of the 8th Spirit of Humanity brought together not-for-profit organisations, academia, government authorities, thought leaders and corporations for sustained engagement and cross learning.
Apart from celebrating the NGOs’ successes, the event witnessed a keynote address by Annaswamy Vaideesh, VP, South Asia and MD, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals. His address emphasised the importance of good health, health infrastructure and budgets in India.
The event was organised with the support of Abbott, Bharat Serums and Vaccines, Hexacraft, JW Marriott, KPMG, SPJIMR and The Hans Foundation.
The winners of the award received a prize amount, trophy and certificate of excellence from thought-leaders and industry experts. They also received opportunities to share their work and meet numerous CSR heads.
