Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, announced that its business Godrej Lawkim Motors is aiming for a 90 per cent revenue growth by FY25 from calibration services offered across sectors in India. Godrej Lawkim Motors is safeguarding India’s health by providing medical equipment calibration services to prevent the misdiagnosis of patients due to inaccurately calibrated equipment. Through this service, they also establish whether medical devices’ operational parameters are in accordance with international standards. They are the first Indian calibration provider to earn the NABL accreditation for setting up standard equipment for medical devices.

Medical devices should be sent for calibration when they display abnormal readings, cross due dates, or even when their location is changed. Uncalibrated equipment may result in an incorrect diagnosis and treatment causing a risk to patient safety. It can also lead to litigation, fines, and an increase in the cost and maintenance of instruments, hence, it is critical to install hospital equipment in accordance with standard calibration. Godrej Lawkim Motors calibrates a range of medical devices needed for the safe diagnosis of patients including ventilators, ECG machines, incubators, patient monitors, radiology & surgical devices, BP monitors, oximeters, and more.

Xercsis Marker, Executive Vice President & Business Head, Godrej Lawkim Motors, says, “We offer Calibration services for medical devices for the healthcare and pharma sectors to establish the accuracy of the instruments being used. We aim to minimize the inaccuracy in measurements and reduce errors thus safeguarding the nation’s health. We have calibrated over 32000+  medical instruments for hospitals across all major metro cities, tier 1 & tier 2 cities. We are targeting 70 per cent growth in medical device calibration services by FY25.”

The calibration process of medical equipment generally involves calibrating through the standard calibrator or analyser. The results are used to establish a relationship between the measured value by the instrument and the known standard values. The instruments can be calibrated in-house as well as on-site depending on the applicable standards and customer requirements. Godrej Lawkim Motors also calibrates the master or standard instruments that are used to calibrate medical equipment.
