Aster DM Healthcare has announced an agreement to acquire the remaining stake in Aster Aadhar Hospital, operated by Prerana Hospital Limited, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The acquisition will increase Aster DM Healthcare’s ownership from 87 per cent to 100 per cent. The transaction will be completed in two tranches, with an expected completion date of 31 December 2025.

The 254-bedded Aster Aadhar Hospital is Kolhapur’s most comprehensive multi-speciality hospital. It was the first in the region to achieve NABH Accreditation, a recognised benchmark for quality healthcare in India. The hospital offers over 25 specialties supported by a panel of leading doctors and dedicated staff.

Dr Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said, “The complete acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategic goals to consolidate our presence in Western India. The expansion will also further build our customer base and deliver greater value to all stakeholders. The Aster Aadhar Hospital is a key step in accelerating our growth and innovation in healthcare in this region, especially in the wake of significant competitive presence of healthcare establishments here.”

The acquisition is part of Aster DM Healthcare’s strategy to address the growing demand for advanced healthcare services in India. Over the next five years, from FY25 to FY29, the company projects a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 18 per cent to 20 per cent year-on-year, driven by increased occupancy and capacity expansion. The operating EBITDA margin is expected to reach 23 per cent to 25 per cent during this period.

The subsidiary will continue to operate while leveraging the parent company’s market presence and financial resources to consolidate growth and explore new opportunities. This acquisition marks a step forward in Aster DM Healthcare’s long-term growth and diversification objectives in India.
