Invento Robotics, Astra-C is an autonomous disinfectant robot that can make spaces safer and free from all the microbes including Coronavirus. Invento Robotics believes that Astra-C can be particularly useful in disinfecting hospital rooms with Corona patients and trials with the same objective in mind have been conducted at Apollo Hospitals, Bengaluru. Other medical professionals have also shown enthusiasm for Astra C.

Astra is equipped with powerful UVC light that is extremely effective against the virus but safe for human operations. The robot can navigate around spaces making every inch free from Coronavirus.

Advantages of Astra C over other disinfecting measures 

• There are only a few ways to disinfect a premises at the moment whether they are hospitals or airports or large commercial spaces. One of the most popular ways is with fogging, however fogging is effective only to a certain extent. 
• UV-C was traditionally used in operating rooms for its germicidal properties and more recently has been successfully used in Wuhan and also starting to get used in Italy for fighting the COVID-19. 
• Currently such units are either stationary or moved by humans. We improved upon that idea and built an autonomous, mobile unit that can move around lobbies, hallways and get into rooms to kill majority of the bacteria and viruses.
• Six Lamps mounted on the Astra robot emit intense UV light at 253.7 nm wavelength, as per current medical device standards. 
• The lamps are made in Germany are certified for medical standards. Invento’s key innovation is in making this mobile with a state-of-the-art LIDAR based SLAM technology that allows operation without exposing the workers to either the harmful UV light or infected rooms of patients. The mobility allows disinfection of various corners and narrow alleys. 
• With regards to training personnel to operate the robot, Invento Robotics has collaborated with a top industry partner for an innovative technology called HITL (Human-In-The-Loop). This technology allows the robots to be on a pre-programmed track with a possibility of allowing a human expert to take over as and when required ensuring we get the best of the both worlds.
