BorderPlus acquires Onea Care in Germany, commits to investing $ 10mn for M&A activities

BorderPlus acquired Onea Care, a German healthcare recruitment firm. This acquisition marks a major step for the company towards creating fair and structured pathways for Indian nurses to work in Germany.

It is estimated that Germany will need an additional 150,000 nurses (1) in 2025. To overcome this shortage, there is an urgent need for structured and transparent hiring pathways to ensure a sustainable healthcare workforce in the region. To meet such growing demand, Germany aims to recruit 500,000 nurses by 2030, which facilitates ethical and structured migration pathways for healthcare workers. 

Ayush Mathur and Mayank Kumar, Co-Founders of BorderPlus, said, “This acquisition is a major step toward ensuring that Indian nurses and healthcare professionals have access to structured, fair, and high-quality job opportunities in Germany.  We will continue to explore such opportunities across key markets to expand our presence and support Indian skilled healthcare talent explore global career prospects. This will help remove the adverse conditions they fall in via illegal recruitment traps.” 

Onea Care, founded by Leon Bauer, is a German healthcare recruiter partnering with top universities, hospitals, and healthcare chains. As a member of Germany’s Fair Recruitment Board, Leon plays a key role in ethical hiring standards.
