City Imaging & Clinical Labs expands hospital laboratory management services across North India
City Imaging & Clinical Labs aims to enhance diagnostic services in over 50 hospitals by 2027, focusing on quality, technology, and patient outcomes
City Imaging & Clinical Labs, one of India’s leading diagnostic chains, is expanding its hospital laboratory management services across North India. The company is currently associated with 10 hospitals, providing comprehensive lab management, including 24/7 in-house phlebotomy and lab testing services. Several of these labs are accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), ensuring adherence to recognised standards.
The company plans to extend its network by offering laboratory services to hospitals with 50 or more beds over the next five years. This expansion is supported by advanced technology, a dedicated corporate quality assurance (CQA) team, experienced pathologists, and a sophisticated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The goal is to enhance diagnostic capabilities in hospitals across North India by March 2027.
Dr Aakaar Kapoor, CEO of City Imaging & Clinical Labs, outlined the company’s vision: “Our vision is to provide round-the-clock, high-quality diagnostic services to hospitals, ensuring that they meet global standards. We believe that integrating our advanced lab management services will not only enhance diagnostic accuracy but also significantly improve treatment outcomes for patients.”
Dr Kapoor also highlighted the scale of the initiative, stating, “Our initiative will transform how hospital labs are managed in India. From existing numbers of hospital labs, we plan to offer services to over 50 hospitals with 50 beds and above across North India by March 2027. With our expertise, hospitals will be better equipped to deliver superior patient care and identify critical conditions before they become life-threatening.”
The company’s focus on delivering accurate and timely diagnostics directly impacts patient care. Dr Kapoor stressed the importance of precise reporting, saying, “The quality of medical reporting is fundamental to the success of any treatment. Misdiagnoses or delays can lead to poor treatment outcomes, which is why we focus so heavily on quality and accuracy.”
The expansion will provide hospitals with the necessary tools and expertise to detect and treat conditions at an earlier stage, improving patient outcomes and saving lives. The model allows the clinical team to concentrate on their work without being concerned about diagnostic services.
City Imaging & Clinical Labs places significant emphasis on continuous professional development for its lab personnel. Dr Kapoor noted, “We ensure that our lab staff receive the same level of training and development opportunities as those in our main laboratories. Our centralised QA team ensures consistent, world-class standards across all centres.” The company also ensures that critical reports are communicated directly to clinicians on duty, and internal quality controls are monitored closely, both online and by the site technical team.
In certain hospital lab management models, City Imaging & Clinical Labs also offers radiology services, including X-ray, with images of X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs transmitted via PACS and reported through teleradiology.
The company’s approach to risk management includes a dedicated focus on safeguarding the physical and mental well-being of its lab personnel, as well as securing their financial future.
City Imaging & Clinical Labs is positioned to lead the future of hospital lab management in India by delivering diagnostic services that improve patient outcomes, investing in its personnel, and maintaining the highest standards of care.
