Delhi teacher crowdfunds Rs 22 lakhs in seven days for liver transplant
363 online donors from India, the UK, the US, Dubai and Australia have supported the cause
Puja Bhatnagar, a teacher by profession has been fighting a severe chronic liver disease for the last 17 years. With the help of a crowdfunding platform Impact Guru, Puja’s family has already raised Rs 22 lakhs within seven days for her liver transplant. Around 363 online donors from India, the UK, the US, Dubai and Australia have supported the cause.
Currently admitted at Max Hospital in Delhi, Puja’s doctors have confirmed that she has reached the last stage of liver cirrhosis, for which the only probable solution is an urgent liver transplant.
The students she taught have come forward to lend their valuable support to help her fight this life threatening ailment. The estimated pre and post surgery expense for her liver transplant is coming to Rs 40 lakhs with approx.five to six months of recovery period.
Through this campaign, her family is urging people to make generous contribution towards saving not just Puja’s life, but also help a family from falling apart.
