At an event at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Brajesh Pathak announced the first “Nursing Teachers Excellence Awards,” inaugurated the “Continued Nursing Professional Development Programme,” and felicitated the “A-rated Nursing and Paramedical Institutes” under the ambit of “Mission Niramaya.”
“As we gather here today to celebrate the launch of these initiatives, we recognise the many benefits these initiatives bring to our healthcare landscape in Uttar Pradesh. These programs represent a commitment to promoting excellence in nursing education, which is the cornerstone of a robust healthcare system. They catalyse progress, driving educators and institutions to continually aim for the highest standards of teaching and practice. Together, we stride towards a healthier, more empowered future,” said Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Medical Education, UP in his welcome address.

With these initiatives, we aim to foster collaboration, networking, and overall excellence in the nursing field. “The launch of the Continuing Nursing Professional Development (CNPD) Program in Uttar Pradesh marks a significant milestone in our commitment to advancing nursing education standards. This program, supported by Jhpiego and UP Technical Support Unit (UPTSU), aims to foster quality teaching methods, enhance clinical skills, and promote research expertise. Uttar Pradesh is proud to be a pioneer in implementing this systematic framework, ensuring equitable access to professional development for all segments of the nursing profession,” he added.
