In keeping with the theme of India’s G-20 Presidency, “One Earth, One Family, One Future” the Summit witnessed efforts towards initiating the clarion call of “Health for All”
Public Health experts at the 8th Edition of India Health & Wellness Summit & Awards concluded that technology can address the issues of accessibility and affordability for remote and far-flung areas however data privacy and cyber security are important issues that need to be addressed. The summit and awards brought together all relevant stakeholders and public health experts to devise comprehensive and organised strategies aligning with the core objective of achieving good health for all.
Ramdas Athawale, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, who was the chief guest congratulated the IHW Council for its persistent efforts towards achieving good health for all and also emphasised on the significance of sanitation and healthy environment as well as a healthy lifestyle according to the vision of PM Modi.
In keeping with the theme of India’s G-20 Presidency, “One Earth, One Family, One Future” the Summit witnessed efforts towards initiating the clarion call of “Health for All”.
Shrikant Bhartiya, Member of Maharashtra Legislative Council, in his opening remarks said that “I am hopeful that initiatives like the IHW Summit will pave a new way for furthering the health discourse in the country and bring the focus on preventive healthcare which is the cornerstone of a healthy society.”
The discussion also focussed on accelerating action at the grassroots level and the challenges in securing good food and food safety & security, climate action for clean environment thus amplifying India’s efforts in rising as a true world leader.
While participating in the discussion Urvashi Prasad, Director, Development Monitoring & Evaluation Office NITI Aayog, said, “Digital health can be used to augment the skills and availability of health professionals at mass levels, provided we are able to tap it in the most productive manner”.
The summit was followed by the India Health & Wellness Awards, to acknowledge and honour contributions towards ensuring good health for all through path breaking innovations and partnerships. Speaking on the occasion Kamal Narayan, CEO, Integrated Health & Wellbeing Council said, “We are hopeful that the awards will go a long way in motivating others to join this movement for overall good health & wellbeing of our nation”.
He further emphasised that the unique opportunity provided by the G-20 Presidency tenure of India can be successfully leveraged to strive for a resilient, accessible and inclusive healthcare ecosystem in the country.
