The acquisition has expanded the presence of Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals to Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, taking the total tally of its existing centres across the country to 110.

Dr Amar Agarwal, Chairman, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals said, “We are absolutely delighted that these five eye hospitals, counted among Tricity’s top eyecare facilities, are now a part of Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals. North India, especially Punjab and Haryana, is a very important market for us due to the huge unmet demand for super-specialty eyecare and advanced capabilities in treating eye diseases. As India’s leading chain of eye hospitals, we are delighted to establish our presence in Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali, and are fully committed to offering the best eyecare to our patients. We will be introducing for the people of Tricity latest technologies for basic and advanced procedures as well as diagnostic tests and state-of-the-art surgeries in eyecare on par with international standards.”

Dr Adil Agarwal, CEO, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals said, “Expanding our presence to the Tricity by acquiring the best eye hospitals in the three cities is a significant milestone for us in our national expansion. Our ideology is to provide quality eyecare to people and bring advanced technology to far-reaching corners of the country. We have aggressive growth plans, especially for North India and states like Punjab and Haryana. We have added more than 60 units to our network in the past 5 years alone, and plan to double our current network of hospitals to more than 200 in the next 3-4 years.”

To fuel its expansion and deploy latest technologies, the company raised over Rs 1,000 crore recently from TPG Growth and Temasek in the country’s largest fund raise in the eyecare space.
