Stress need to build a bridge between traditional and modern healthcare systems through an integrated approach towards holistic health
“Our protocol is not from illness to wellness but it is illness to happiness. We have been working for the immunity of the 80000 Delhi Police workforce,” said Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Manoj Nesari, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.
She was speaking at a webinar organised on November 24, by the AYUSH Committee, PHDCCI titled Integrated Approach to Combat COVID-19 Pandemic.
She also mentioned that 400 patients have successfully recovered from COVID-19 in their institute through Ayurveda and only 4 per cent needed integration with oxygen. She also requested support from modern allopathic doctors on capacity building for severe cases and mentioned that the AYUSH Sanjivani app has been subscribed by around 1.87 crore people who are benefiting from the app.
Prof. (Dr.) Nesari also talked about the daily rise of new COVID-19 cases in various cities, while sharing the data, she highlighted that the recovery rate is much higher than the affected cases and mentioned that we have to be ready for new normal adaption to fight with current pandemic. She also talked about e-Advisory, which reaches out to more than 150 countries and launch of AYURAKSHA, a joint venture of AIIA and Delhi Police for maintaining the health of front line COVID warriors – Delhi police personal through Ayurveda immunity boosting measures.
Arvind Varchaswi, Chair, AYUSH Committee, PHDCCI gave a welcome address and talked about integrating modern medicine with the Ayurveda and Homeopathy systems of medicine along with role of India’s traditional healthcare systems including Yoga. He also mentioned that there’s a need for building a bridge between traditional and modern healthcare systems through an integrated approach towards holistic health.
Dr. T.S. Kler, Chairman, PSRI Heart Institute said by adapting a healthy lifestyle, exercising with positive attitude could help to fight against any disease. He also said modern medicine and Ayurveda should have a joint approach and studies should be published in medical journals for creating awareness about any concept. He mentioned there’s a need for collaboration of these two medicines for taking it to next level.
Dr. R.N. Wahi, Homeopathy Physician & Vice President, SDHA shared his personal experience that how homeopathy could also play a significant role in fighting against this virus. He also talked about the integrated approach and how immunomodulators, regular exercise and good diet could be very helpful in developing immunity of any individual.
Dr. Himanshu S Tiwari, Medical Advisor, Multani Pharmaceuticals shared a brief presentation on current therapy available for COVID-19, which involves only symptomatic treatment, supportive care and prevention and highlighted about need for an integrated approach to fight with ongoing pandemic.
Sava Zixvanovich, Managing Director, Vyom Digital Services mentioned the services of Vyom Smart Care by Pi an android app, its USPs like a personalised healthcare plan and urged all medical providers to work together to develop a better digital system, which could be very helpful for the patients.
