Fortis Healthcare selects VitalHealth QuestLink to implement ICHOM standard sets
Contract signed in India in presence of Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte
A contract was signed in New Delhi between Fortis Healthcare and VitalHealth Software, in the presence of Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte who was visiting India. VitalHealth QuestLink will be implemented at Fortis Healthcare India for collecting Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) based on ICHOM Standard Sets. Fortis Healthcare will utilise QuestLink to monitor clinical outcomes of patient treatments and will be the first organisation in India to implement ICHOM Standard Sets.
Reportedly, Fortis Healthcare will be the first provider in India to implement the ‘Standard Sets’ of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM). ICHOM is a non-profit organisation founded by Harvard Business School (Professor Michael Porter), the Karolinska Institute and the Boston Consulting Group. ICHOM’s mission is to unlock the potential of value-based health care by defining global Standard Sets of outcome measures that really matter to patients for the most relevant medical conditions and by driving adoption and reporting of these measures worldwide. With the ICHOM certified QuestLink solution, VitalHealth supports worldwide standardized outcomes measurement based on the ICHOM Standard. Sets.
“The goal of VitalHealth Software to have a positive influence on global health closely matches the leading vision of Fortis Healthcare. With its dedication to eHealth, VitalHealth is an ideal partner for further improving our leading position in Medical Excellence and enables Fortis Healthcare to achieve ICHOM certification,” says Dr Bishnu Panigrahi, Group Head Medical Operations at Fortis. Healthcare.
QuestLink will initially be implemented to monitor the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease in 13 hospitals, based on ICHOM’s Standard Set for coronary artery disease. After a successful implementation for this patient population, the solution will gradually be rolled out to other care disciplines and hospitals at Fortis Healthcare.
Based on ICHOM’s Standard Sets, care providers will be able to use clinical and patient reported outcomes to evaluate the quality of care and make the necessary adjustments to individualised care processes. Apart from that, the standardised outcomes data can be used for global sharing of benchmarking information, based on which care providers worldwide can learn from each other and improve care protocols.
“The implementation of patient reported outcomes measurement in clinical practice will lead to increased objectivity and transparency. This initiative complements our Lakshya goals, one of which is to drive clinical excellence,” says Dr Panigrahi.
“The use of ICHOM Standard Sets at Fortis Healthcare illustrates the worldwide move towards value-based healthcare, as promoted by ICHOM. VitalHealth is pleased to be able to work with a leading hospital network to help improve the quality of care by facilitating and optimising the process of outcomes measurement. Our QuestLink product has been implemented in Europe, Asia and the US and we welcome Fortis Healthcare as one of our valued customers,” says Laurens van der Tang, CEO of VitalHealth Software.
