With exam round the corner, Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore conducted a two-day motivation camp for 47 schools at Chikamagalur to combat anxiety. Around 1750 SSLC students attended the two-day motivation camp, which is a part of the ‘Study and Exam Skills’ programme initiated by Fortis School Mental Health Program. Akanksha Pandey (clinical psychologist) and Dr Venkatesh Babu (Psychiatrist), Fortis Bangalore, counselled SSLC Students about few strategies to deal with exam anxiety and share lifestyle management tips.
In the two-day interactive session with SSLC students, doctors imparted skills on effective exam preparation, and guided them on goal setting, prioritisation and time management to help them perform better in their exams.
The Fortis School Mental Health Program under the aegis of Dr Samir Parikh, Director, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences is currently running the “Study and Exam Skills” initiative in schools across the country. This initiative aims at reducing stress among school students and equip them with skills such as time management and goal setting, to study effectively during the exam season. So far, Fortis has conducted workshops and webinars across 200 schools in over 25 cities across the country, reaching over 50000 students in all.
Fortis also provides a 24 x 7 exam stress helpline for students wherein a team of mental health experts will be assisting them.
