Fujifilm India has expanded its pulmonology solutions portfolio by launching a new slim video bronchoscope called EB-710P, which was unveiled at the National Conference NAPCON at Udaipur, according to a company statement.

The EB-710P is a thin endoscope equipped with an exceptionally compact CMOS sensor. This technology means that the tip is a mere 4.1 mm in diameter, so that it may penetrate the periphery of the lung much more easily than a conventional system. In addition, there is a rotation mechanism which allows the user to return the endoscope safely to its original position before the withdrawal, the statement said.

It added that the ergonomic grip and the teardrop-shaped dial used with the rotation function make for smooth handling. With its extremely small diameter and its rotation function, the EB-710P endoscope system increases the safety and comfort of a bronchoscopy.

The new slim standard video bronchoscope EB-710P was launched by Dr Hari Kishan Gonuguntla, Lead Consultant Pulmonology, Yashodha Hospitals, Hyderabad, and Dr Arjun Khanna, HOD; Senior Consultant, Pulmonology and Critical Care, Amrita Hospitals, Faridabad, in presence of many interventional pulmonologists. From endoscopy division, HOD Dheeraj Chaudhri and Japanese Adviser Tomosuke Okada were present during the launch, the statement mentioned.

Koji Wada, Managing Director, Fujifilm India, said, “…..With the launch of the new bronchoscope EB-710P, we are expanding our pulmonology portfolio. The aim is to provide superior technological medical facilities that can help save lives and encourage patients to become more engaged in their personal care……”

The bronchoscope works with the latest Linked Colour Imaging technology which enhances the visibility of mucosal changes for the early detection of lung lesions. The new slim standard video bronchoscope with LCI and BLI technology will help interventional pulmonologists in peripheral biopsies with excellent HD images. This scope will serve as a therapeutic tool for paediatric patients as well.
